It's said of many bands that their sound is difficult to categorize, but for Greensboro, N.C.'s Holy Ghost Tent Revival, it's the honest truth. Here's an attempt, though: indie ragtime. With an earthy songwriting feel reminiscent of The Band tempered with the flair of fellow modern roots outfits like Dr. Dog and Scranton friends And The Moneynotes, HGTR has become a rising live attraction not only in its Southern home territory but also beyond, including in Northeastern Pa.
The band has two releases -- the full-length debut "So Long I Screamed" and the EP "Family" -- and is at work on a second full-length.
