In 1995, I was a senior in high school. My best friend discovered a British band called Take That via its hit song “Back for Good,” bought the CD, and could not stop listening to that one song over and over.

Having not been one who was all into music from so-called “boy bands,” I was shocked when I found myself just as addicted to the gorgeous song as my BF. To teach me the song, during one sleepover, she put “Back for Good” on repeat so we could fall asleep to it.

I woke up knowing every single word of the song — and surprisingly, I still do. I must say, I forgot what a gorgeous little ditty it is. I love these lines the best:

“Got a picture of you beside me/ Got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup”

and

“In the twist of separation you excelled at being free/ Can’t you find a little room inside for me?”

If you haven’t guessed by now, clearly this week’s video is “Back for Good.”

I’m a sucker for anything black and white that includes dancing in the rain, old cars with whitewall tires and someone wearing a goofy furry hat I desperately wish was mine.

And yes, there is something about Robbie Williams and his bigger-than-the-English-Channel ego that’s still a bit delicious.
