It started out as a normal morning but ended in disaster… the shoes almost didn’t make it.

I was on my way back from my morning class, which was at 8 a.m. I truly was awake and coherent. Misericordia’s campus is a mess and has loads of construction. To get back to my car in the most time efficient way, I cross mounds of dirt and rocks. This morning, however, I guess I forgot that there was a sewer cover with holes. And (always assume I am wearing stilettos unless otherwise stated) high heels and holes do not miss very well.

If you think back to “The Wedding Planner,” stud muffin Matthew McConaughey rescues the lovely Jennifer Lopez and then falls in love.

Reality check, please?

Not the case. Here I am walking one minute and stuck the next. For anyone who can envision this, it was quite the scene. So I drop my bag next to me and proceed to release my heel from the hole only to look up and find a crane swinging over me. Cute, isn’t it? Did I mention I love all the construction being done on campus?

Then I frantically set my poor heel free and I went to go to my car.

Typical… so typical. There really is no rest for the weary.
