The second annual legislative “Cause for the Paws” can help that, an event that will take place June 15 from 1-4 p.m. at Dailey Park in West Wyoming.

Here, dog licenses will be available as well as vaccinations and microchipping. Numerous animal advocacy groups are scheduled to attend.

A pet photographer, Jessica Cobb, will be taking photographs of pets with their owners and will donate all proceeds to the SPCA. There also will be face painting for children, food vendors, and vendors selling dog apparel and homemade dog treats.

…should you be doing on Aug. 14? Heading to the Sherman Theater (524 Main St., Stroudsburg), where We the Kings, Breathe Carolina, T. Mills, and The Ready Set are hitting the stage.

“Opening for them in 2005 on the Fall Brawl Tour was a very special experience for me, being a fan of the band since the release of ‘The Fundamental Elements of Southtown,’” said Flyleaf bassist Pat Seals. “P.O.D. live is always explosive and heartfelt – it will be a privilege to share the stage once again.”

The concert comes to Brews Brothers West (75 Main St., Luzerne) on July 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale May 31 at 10 a.m. and are $18 in advance and $20 day of sale.

The Poets and Frankie & the Corvettes are celebrating 50 years of surf music, the British Invasion, and ‘50s and ‘60s oldies with special guests The Paramounts performing doo-wop and street harmony on Saturday, June 1 at St. Mary’s Center (320 Miflin Ave., Scranton). The $25 ticket price includes food, dessert, and coffee. Doors open at 5 p.m., food is served 6 p.m. until 7p.m., and the music runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
