Finals have started! Finally Marywood students are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and the winter break is only a few days away. The Fall 2006 semester officially ends on Saturday, Dec. 16 and students are asked to depart from the dorms by 10 a.m. Students will return for the Spring 2007 semester on January 15, 2007. The Communication Arts Department has been preparing holiday events for the public since the middle of October. Now that it is finally December, area residents are welcome to come and enjoy the performances of many talented students.
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 everyone is welcome to attend the Annual Wind Ensemble Christmas Concert. Beginning at 7 p.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts, this event is free and open to the public. For ticket information, contact the Marywood Music Department at 570.348.6268.
From Dec. 26-28, the 31st Annual Performance of the Nutcracker Ballet will be held at Marywood. The ballet is sponsored by Marywood University and Ballet Theatre of Scranton. It will be performed in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Get dressed up for a night of food, fun and dancing! Get your tickets for the 2007 Marywood Homecoming Dance. This event will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Clarks Summit. Tickets are $20/person and $35/couple. Students who run for Homecoming court are admitted free of charge. Students can pick up an application in the Student Activities Office or the Regina Hall front desk.
