…is going on at the ever-evolving Kirby Center?
The Wilkes-Barre venue just announced a new series, “Live from the Chandelier Lobby,” putting a spin on attending a show at the Kirby Center.
“In a nutshell, we will be setting up a stage beneath the chandelier and will be holding intimate performances throughout the lobby, throughout the year,” said marketing manager Anne Rodella.
So far, Alejandro Escovedo is confirmed as the first artist for the series, set to perform on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the singer/songwriter series. The Kirby envisions several types of series, from jazz and blues to cabaret, down the road.
The singer-songwriter series should consist of four or five total performances.
Alejandro Escovedo is a celebrated singer/songwriter whose punk rock roots in ‘70s San Francisco can still be heard in his roots rock/alternative country style. Alejandro has performed and collaborated with icons Ryan Adams and Bruce Springsteen.
