Scranton resident Christopher J. Hughes will display a series of recently created pop culture parodies during a joint exhibit at Sole to Soul (535 S. State St., Clarks Summit) during the shop’s Second Friday exhibit opening June 13. Hughes and painter Judy Rhue will share the space throughout the month of June.

Hughes draws inspiration for his work from the various television shows, movies, and video games of his youth with additional influence from the shows currently watched by his two children, Taryn, 10, and John, 5.

His work has been featured on the pop culture T-shirt-a-day website, TeeFury.com, and several pieces were included in the June 2013 “As Seen On TV” exhibit at the former New Visions Studio and Gallery in Scranton.

Hughes serves as the manager of web content and news media at Lackawanna College, his alma mater. His wife Lyndsey is also an artist who supports his geek-driven artistic efforts.
