What

…can you do if you’re an avid bicycle rider who’s been itching to get out there and get rolling? You may want to hit up the Fifth Annual Heritage Explorer Bike Tour and Festival.

Hosted by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area and Heritage Valley Partners, Inc., it will be held rain or shine on June 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Blakely Borough Recreation Complex in Peckville. The tour offers four out-and-back routes that extend from Blakely Borough Recreation Complex north on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and in neighborhood streets through 17 municipalities. Keystone College will provide a complimentary lunch to all riders.

In conjunction with this, a festival will be held at Blakely Borough Recreation Complex from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring music, demonstrations, vendors, exhibits, and raffle baskets. A kids’ area will offer family-friendly entertainment, including two free activities for children age 10 and under – the Blakely Lokie Bike Rally and the Heritage Explorer Festival Youth Run. For more information and to register, visit lhva.org or call 570.963.6730, ext. 8200.

Where

…can you go not only for great drink specials, but for the best cover bands around?

It’s that time of year again, when the party moves outside at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for Party on the Patio. The celebration kicks off May 29 at 6 p.m. and continues every Thursday in the summer, same time and place, bringing a good time packed with great music to the masses.

The first act to take the stage is Runaway, a tribute to Bon Jovi. From that point forward, you can see, in order of appearance, Back in Black (AC/DC tribute), Tusks (Fleetwood Mac tribute), November Rain (Guns N’ Roses tribute), Separate Ways (Journey tribute), Parrot Beach (Jimmy Buffet tribute), Tramps Like Us (Bruce Springsteen tribute), Runaway a second time, and the party season caps off with a performance by Satisfaction (Rolling Stones Tribute).
