A severe allergic reaction to antibiotics has kept Miley Cyrus in the hospital for almost a week and forced her to postpone the remaining dates of her “Bangerz” U.S. tour.

News of the tour’s rescheduling came last Friday night following a two-week period in which five shows were either canceled or postponed. Dates in Charlotte, Kansas City, and St. Louis will now be made up. Performances that were not originally scheduled in Pittsburgh and Chicago were also added to the bill.

Of course, amongst the rescheduled dates is a stop that was originally planned for Monday, April 21 in Philadelphia. Miley Cyrus will now headline the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, Aug. 2.

This is the second time that the date for Cyrus’ Philly concert has moved. Originally the show was slated for Tuesday, April 22. Following the release of the Flyers’ NHL playoff schedule, concert promoters moved the event up a night to accommodate Game 3 of the series between Philadelphia and the New York Rangers.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer’s most recent misfortunes can be traced back to earlier this month when her dog passed away. On April 2, Cyrus announced to her fans that her pet named Floyd died.

“I know I don’t mean it but I wish he would’ve taken me with him,” she wrote with a picture of the dog on her social networks. “What am I gonna do without him?”

Just five days later, Cyrus canceled her show in Charlotte. An official statement claimed that doctors diagnosed the artist with the flu.

Then on April 15, Cyrus found herself in the hospital. Concerts in Kansas City and St. Louis were canceled. When the singer was not discharged, shows in Nashville and Louisville were postponed.

“Miley continues to be hospitalized due to a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics,” her team said in a statement at the time of the announcement.

But now comes the rescheduling of the tour’s remaining balance, as Cyrus’ hospital stay has yet to end. She has been posting selfies and tweeting from her bed since arriving in Kansas City. Meanwhile, a number of media outlets are speculating as to what caused her health issues. Cyrus took to Twitter to dispel some of those rumors.

“Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour,” read a statement from Cyrus’ rep that the singer posted on Thursday. “She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she’s now suffered an allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.”

At the moment, it does not seem that Cyrus will have to wait until August to get back on stage. Her European tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on May 2, is still set to occur as scheduled.
